{"id":8454,"date":"2023-09-07T10:39:46","date_gmt":"2023-09-07T14:39:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crgm.ca\/?p=8454"},"modified":"2023-09-07T10:49:45","modified_gmt":"2023-09-07T14:49:45","slug":"a-grant-to-promote-our-services-in-english","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crgm.ca\/en\/a-grant-to-promote-our-services-in-english\/","title":{"rendered":"A grant to promote our services in English"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>The Information and Referral Center of Greater Montr\u00e9al has received a grant from the Secretariat Responsible for Relations with English-Speaking Quebecers <em>(Secr\u00e9tariat aux relations avec les Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois.es d\u2019expression anglaise (SRQEA)<\/em> to promote its services to anglophone communities.<\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Montr\u00e9al, September 7, 2023 \u2013 <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/crgm.ca\/en\/\">The Information and Referral Center of Greater Montr\u00e9al<\/a> has received a grant of 400 000$ over two years from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quebec.ca\/en\/government\/departments-and-agencies\/srqea\">Secretariat Responsible for Relations with English-Speaking Quebecers<\/a> <em>(Secr\u00e9tariat aux relations avec les Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois.es d\u2019expression anglaise (SRQEA)<\/em> to promote its services to anglophone communities, including 211 Greater Montr\u00e9al and its addiction helplines, Drugs: Help and Referral and Gambling: Help and Referral.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The funds will be divided into three main categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increasing awareness of our services to anglophone communities with promotional campaigns via targeted media, translation of promotional materials and online information content.<\/li>\n<li>Developing partnerships with community organizations that help anglophone communities so that we may collaborate and ensure proper referrals to those services and they to us.<\/li>\n<li>Training for our counselors to improve their use of professional English and ensuring optimal services to anglophone people in vulnerable situations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Quotes<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Eric Girard, Minister of Finance and Minister Responsible for Relations with English-Speaking Quebecers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8221; Health is one of our government\u2019s top priorities, and I am proud of this investment, which will help strengthen mental health services for English-speaking Quebecers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pierrette Gagn\u00e9, Executive Director, Information and Referral Center of Greater Montr\u00e9al<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8221; We sincerely thank the Secretariat Responsible for Relations with English-Speaking Quebecers for their necessary support in the universality of services offered by the Information and Referral Center of Greater Montr\u00e9al. We are not very well-known by English-Speaking Quebecers. These funds will allow us to increase our visibility to those who need help and support to get out of difficult situations. During this time of social crisis in Qu\u00e9bec, the Center is proud to help as many citizens as possible. &#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the<\/strong> <strong>Information and Referral Center of Greater Montr\u00e9al \u2013 <\/strong>Founded in 1956, the <u>Information and Referral Center of Greater Montr\u00e9al (IRCGM)&#8217;s<\/u> mission is helping through information.
